The Karoo Hoogland Municipality invites applications for a 24-month Municipal Finance Management Internship in Williston, Northern Cape. This structured program, aligned with the MFMP and MFMA Act, offers hands-on training in municipal budgeting and treasury operations. Candidates must hold a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields (or an N6 Certificate with WIL) and be aged 21–35. The annual stipend is R100,000. About the Internship
This 24-month internship is designed to provide graduates with structured professional training and work experience in a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office environment. The internship is aligned with the Municipal Finance Management Programme (MFMP) and governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003.
The programme builds on the knowledge and skills acquired at tertiary level and culminates in a Municipal Finance Management qualification, in line with Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007.
Minimum Requirements
- A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- OR a N6 Certificate in the above fields with outstanding Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
- Age between 21 and 35 years
- South African citizen
- Reside in the Northern Cape Province
